Last Saturday we celebrated Ellen’s birthday. She turned 40 but I overheard a conversation of hers telling somebody else that she still feels like in the early 20’s. That’s good news, don’t know if I can always say that. Ellen arranged the party already many months ago and had very specific ideas of how she wanted it to be. The theme for the High Tea was ‘Pip’ style. But as she gives this advice always to wedding couples she had to plan it well beforehand and enjoy and relax on the day itself.

Dorenda, a good friend of Ellen and her companion Ilse arranged the whole party and it was sort of a high tea, only inside due to the rainfall. Dorenda and Ilse prepared some lovely food and sweet things and they are seriously professional. IDcatering is where you can find them on the web.

Since we didn’t have a proper wedding cake on our wedding day Ellen still craved for that special cake that she sees weekly on my photo’s of the weddings. We planned to have one of those for our 12,5 wedding anniversary in September this year but as a surprise I arranged a cake from Les Beau Geteau in Amsterdam to be be made for her birthday. I love the cakes from Le Beau Gateau and they taste great as well. Thank you Marianne for baking it and creating such art that you can consume in a short time. Thanx to all the friends who came. Ellen really had a wonderful time and appreciate your friendship and the bicycle. She had been twice on her Hallelujah since Saturday!
