Vintage wedding in Delft
Many years ago I worked at Ikea and once I said to William, one of my colleagues to give me a call if he is going to get married. After 10 years William did it and I was very surprised that William was remembered me! William and Mirella met each other in Ikea as well but in the mean time Mirella started working as a graphic designer and she is a pretty good designer. She designed the ‘Hold the date’ invitation, the wedding invitation, the thank you’s (dankjeweltjes) and more.
Mirella’s whole idea was to do a vintage wedding and I was very keen on it from the beginning but having never done one it was sort of new ground for me. Saw a lot on Snippet and Ink, Christine Meintjes, Style me pretty and of course Red Leaf studios in Canada and I had confidence that it will work out.
On the actual wedding day we had lots of rain which actually helped creating a nice feeling to the green area around Delft. One thing I will always remember was that we were busy shooting with mud, wet gras and water puddles everywhere and there was a continuous drissle going on and I just felt so content and thankful. Totaly covered in mud (had an extra set of clothing in the car) I exclaimed a shout of joy knowing that I enjoy what I do! Thank you Mirella and William for providing me with such an excellent day and your sweet characters willfuly did what I asked, it was fun and my vision is broadened because of yours!
I tried many different editing methods to create a sort of vintage feel. With some I succeeded I think and with others not so. Since there were not so many Vintage weddings in Holland that I see on internet or with my colleagues, I hope more wedding couples will try it out especially if you are a real vintage Lady like Mirella!!
